How To Sponsor Achild

What is sponsorship?
Sponsorship is bringing God’s love and hope to a precious child.
It is an opportunity to support one of our Kenyan children in Nairobi or Kisumu.
Sponsorship results in a one-to-one relationship between you and your sponsored child
You can correspond with your sponsored child, pray for him/her, receive regular reports on their progress and even visit the child in their community, eventually.
Sponsorship provides resources directly to the children’s home in Kenya to support your child’s needs. These needs include food, water, and shelter, school supplies uniform and medical care.
How will my sponsorship help?
Child sponsorship is not about a handout. It is about transforming a life of a child by giving them hope and a future full of opportunity.
Through sponsorship you are able to address the immediate needs of your sponsored child and the orphanage by creating a loving and safe community where children can leave tragic lives on the street and feel safe, be fed, educated, and loved.
Will my sponsored child learn about God?
We strive to demonstrate God’s love and grace in every part of our work. As believers in Christ, our goal is to save lives, bring hope and enable each child to reach their God given potential. Each home provides Biblical teaching and works in partnership with a local church in Nairobi. We encourage you to pray for your child and his /her specific needs.
Other Basic Requirements
1. School Desks
2. Nine teaching staff and one care taker all volunteers but we need a token of appreciation each $50.00
3. Day to day maintenance of the facility Repairs, painting etc.
4. A vehicle to help in case of emergency when a pupil or a staff falls sick suddenly
5. Apartment facility to accommodate projects activities.
May I write to my sponsored child?
Absolutely! You can get to know more about your sponsored child by exchanging letters and postcards.send them to:
                                            Tumaini children home
                                             P.o.box. 314-Dandora
                                             Nairobi, Kenya, Africa
Letters can take from 3 weeks to 3 months to reach your sponsored child depending on how you send it
Send only flat in expensive items that can easily fit into 6”*9” envelope – items such as bookmarks ,stickers, or photos .Never send cash , unfortunately , carrying cash could make your child a target of crime.
Will  I hear from my child?
You will eventually receive a response just remember that these children live in remote locations with
Inefficient postal service and their English are limited.
If your child is too young to write will talk to a helper who will write for it from him/her .this might be a teacher, a church member or an older child.
Can I send a package to my child?
Un fortunately , high import duties ,restrictions by then Kenya government and inadequate  postal services prohibit the children’s home from accepting packages.
Will I be updated on my child’s progress?
Each year you will receive a progress report and a new photograph of our sponsored child. This report will let you know how your sponsored child is doing in school; provide you with health updates, personal achievements at the home or in the community and prayer requests.

As a Christian Organization TMCH has a unique opportunity and responsibility and responsibility to respond with compassion of Christ to those infected or affected. The centre depends on sporadic support from well-wishers and the community which is very minimal and non-consistent.
GOAL
Our goal is to reduce the number of orphans not attending school due to myriad household problems such as  socio-economic injustice thus we focus on orphans, youth in the community.
VISION & MISSION STATEMENT
Children aged 5-15 years are particularly vulnerable to HIV/AIDS as they  may become sexually active before they have the knowledge, the skills and maturity to protect themselves from the risk that predispose them to HIV/AIDS infection. At the same time this age group constitutes a window of hope. For HIV/AIDS prevention since these children are generally not yet sexually active and has among them the lowest HIV prevalence rate in overall population.
In achieving this equator vision complex in partnership with other CBO’s support training of pupils and youths in primary schools within and we attain in value based and age appropriate life skills. Training the trained pupils through supervision of their teachers reach their peers through established peer clubs and through performance during events.
